[REVIEW] NIOD Set No.1 Part 1

If you want to ask my best advice on choosing the perfect skin care brand for you, it’s gotta be “Never, ever, try high end skin care that have a huge cult following.” Because believe me, if it’s working for you, there’s no way back. Maybe you would think, “It’s okay to try the sample sizes out of curiosity, you would never repurchase it anyway.” However, once again, believe me. It wouldn’t feel the same. You would think that EVERYTHING is not as good as the expensive brands that you’ve tried before. At least that’s what I thought ever since I’ve tried SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick, Sunday Riley LUNA, and Grown Alchemist Cleansing Cream and Facial Oil, lol.

Nevertheless, those exciting feelings of trying the cult products are indeed really intoxicating. I never had enough of it, lol. Never try something that you can’t afford they said. Lol, indeed that was true. But the appearance of travel size sets of those expensive brands is indeed a God send product for us whom always curious to try them but didn’t have the budget to purchase the full size products. And this time around, I will talk about NIOD Set No.1 that includes 4 famous products from NIOD, and on this first review of the set, I will specifically review the Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex and Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate.

FRACTIONATED EYE CONTOUR CONCENTRATE

3ml /0.1 fl oz/oz liq

A hyper-concentrated bio-serum for the eye contour, FECC combines 28 technologies to target the looks of all aspects of under-eye and above-eye aging in one treatment—borrowing from advanced biotechnology, polyphenol technology, next-generation cyclic peptide technologies, marine science and modern drone delivery mechanics.

DIRECTIONS:

Apply in the eye area, including upper eyelids, both AM and PM.

The first thing that I thought when I see this product that it is basically the more potent version of The Ordinary’s famous Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. They are both under eye serum, it’s not an eye cream. The texture is very watery and thin. So you supposedly put it on your under eye before your eye cream. But is it significantly better than the cheap Caffeine Solution, especially considering the price?

Honestly speaking, the ingredients itself are very, very good for anti ageing. Come on, it contained next-generation cyclic peptide, even common peptide is very good for anti ageing, let alone the next-generation one, lol. Not to mention NIOD claimed that this serum is made with advanced biotechnology, polyphenol technology, etc. It’s gotta be good, right? However, as I’m a firm believer that the best thing to reduce your darkened under eye is a healthy lifestyle, I don’t think that this is the product that could miraculously reduce your dark under eye.

However I do think that this is a really good product to prevent ageing under eye. Let me make it clear again: Prevent ageing under eye. As any anti ageing product would be perfect to prevent signs of ageing. Wrinkles, etc. It would be harder to reduce the wrinkles rather than preventing it to be happened. Therefore, my girls, make sure to use anti ageing product before you actually need it.

MULTI- MOLECULAR HYALURONIC COMPLEX

15ml /0.5 fl oz/oz liq

A multi-dimensional approach to topical hyaluronic supplementation, this advanced serum combines 12 forms of hyaluronic compounds in a peptide-charged delivery system to offer visible hydration, visible plumping, comfort and the look of dermal uniformity.

DIRECTIONS:

Recommended as a core NIOD regimen product to be used with Copper Amino Isolate Serum (CAIS). If used with CAIS, apply CAIS after cleansing, followed by Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex (MMHC). If used separately, apply MMHC after cleansing before the application of other skin treatments. Apply a small amount to the entire face.

As for the MMHC, it’s actually the second most famous serum from NIOD after CAIS. I initially wanted to purchase CAIS, but sadly it didn’t come in any sets and the travel size is sold out as well, therefore I couldn’t purchase it and I have to settle down with MMHC instead. Lots of people that already tried it said that it is a super potent Hyaluronic Acid serum that contained advanced Hyaluronic Acid. Since I always love any hyaluronic acid products and even the cheapo Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid products are a life changing products for me, of course I expect so much from this product, especially considering even the Liah Yoo raved about this product.

One thing that I have to accept from NIOD products (or any DECIEM products on that matter) is the fact that we shouldn’t expect that it would smells perfumey or at least relaxing, since they almost always ditched any fragrance, therefore their products tends to always smells like chemical. However, this specific product is probably the worse scented product from any DECIEM products that I’ve ever tried. It smells like puke—like, literally, lol. I even have to hold my breath every time I apply it to my skin, and I never get used to it, lol.

It has very liquidy texture that would easily absorbed into the skin, but surprisingly this very thin texture could plumped up your skin almost immediately, especially if I use NIOD Sanskirt Saponis beforehand! This product amazed me and definitely could make me finished it despite the disgusting smells, lol.

I know that the cheap Hada Labo Gokyujun Lotion won’t work for older ageing skin, and I think if you have trouble to find the perfect hydrating serum if you have ageing skin, I highly recommend you to try this MMHC because it is that good! I heard that it won’t be as good if you don’t use NIOD SS beforehand, though, so maybe you also have to use it in conjunction with NIOD SS. Is it worth the price? I think so, I even curious to try it together with CAIS because NIOD recommends to use them both together. However, I don’t think that I would repurchase it unless I’ve got to try it together with CAIS because of its price and its horrible, horrible scent, lol.

Well, that’s all from my first review of NIOD Set No. 1. Do you spot any of your favorites? I have to say that both of these products are not necessities in your routine. However, they are both definitely a treat if you have the budget to purchase it. For me personally, I think that they are both worth to try at least once in my lifetime. But I don’t think that I would repurchase it considering the price, lol.
