[REVIEW] Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence

Have you heard the news? Yup, sadly Skinfood is said to file for bankruptcy and decided to close down their stores. 😦 It’s very said since Skinfood is one of the earliest K-beauty brand that I’ve heard, which I know is a road shop brand that loved by many.  Even if I rarely try lots of their products, I think Skinfood have the most decent skin care line for road shop. Too bad some of their line was considered pretty pricey for my college student budget back then, but I’ve heard good things about them. And, it happened that their black sugar scrub and this particular Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence are my favorites. *Sigh* Well, let’s consider that this post is tribute to one of Skinfood’s finest product, shall we?

This nutritious essence has been upgraded to contain even more propolis extract! The formula now has 63% propolis extract and 10% royal jelly extract to help strengthen and soften skin. This essence is packed with antioxidants and provides antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits for smoother, healthier skin. The addition of lactobacillus and fermented yeast provides additional hydration and helps even out complexion.

Propolis Extract, Honey Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Glycerin, Beta-Glucan, Lactobacillus Ferment, Saccharomyces Ferment, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Disodium Edta, Carbomer, Arginine

You must already know that I love, love honey ingredients in my skin care, especially propolis. Even the cheap propolis serum from It’s Skin works wonder for my skin. Therefore, I already know somehow that this product would work for me, but I didn’t know how it would compare to other propolis product that I’ve tried. So, even if propolis products is probably as old as snail products, but the hype was started since at least two years ago because of Lee Ji Haam Vita Propolis Serum that everyone’s swore by. Tried it. Reviewed it. But I honestly have to agree with Liah Yoo that this Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence is basically doing the same thing with the Lee Ji Haam Vita Propolis Serum that comes with more expensive price with its little, teeny tiny bottle.

Well, maybe Lee Ji Haam Vita Propolis Serum wins in terms of formulation because of the existence of niacinamide in their ingredients list, however in terms of the overall result, especially the hydrating effect, they are basically pretty similar. They both will give you this glowy, plump, and hydrated skin. I could get separate niacinamide products anyway, so I didn’t really bother because of slightly different formulation, because, well, they both work just fine on my skin!

Other than the result and the price point, I also really prefer the packaging of this serum. It’s automatically pumped up the recommended amount of serum whenever you screw open the bottle. It’s pretty hard for me to describe it through words, but maybe you could watch video reviews of it if you’re wondering what I meant, lol. So, basically I think that it’s pretty revolutionary, loll.

Well, I highly suggest you guys to try this one if you curious to try propolis serum but you think that Lee Ji Haam is very expensive. If you have dry skin, I think you would really love this one. For anyone with any skin type, I’m sure that you would love this serum if you’re looking for a good hydrating serum.  I really wish that Skinfood would still to open through their online webstore because their skin care line is really good. 😦

So, have you tried this serum? What do you think? Please do share your thoughts in the comment section below 🙂
