Well, finally this is it!! The mascara of the year, the talk of the town, the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash ParadiseEveryone has been talking about it, and finally, it reached Indonesia a couple of months ago. I got it from overseas, though, not knowing that it will be launched in Indonesia by the time I got home, lol. Well, is it as good as they said? Let’s get it started!

Take your lashes to paradise with voluptuous volume & intense length. Soft wavy bristle brush holds the maximum amount of formula. 200+ bristles catch every lash for a dramatic volumizing effect. Silky smooth formula glides on evenly and easily. This volumizing and lengthening mascara delivers a full lash fringe that’s feathery soft. No flaking. No smudging. No clumping. Women agreed: 91%* saw intense & volumized lashes and 87%* saw more beautiful lashes. +98%* lengthening effect. 1 sold every 5 seconds.*

First of all, me and my makeup addict friend already believe that nothing could beat Japanese mascara and eyeliners. Hence the reason why we both tend to stock up them whenever we have the opportunities to go to Japan or whichever country that sold them or when our friends when to Japan. Why? Because we believe that western brand mascaras and eyeliners are just not that good. And even if it does, it’s usually formulated in Japan. Take Marc Jacobs eyeliner for example. And it cost a lot, like 4-5 times more expensive than Japanese eyeliner drugstore that works really good.

But it’s L’Oreal, it’s cheap, though not cheap cheap, in South East Asia, it cost like 1.5 times more expensive than in state. So probably around the same price or a wee bit expensive than most Japanese mascara. My rational thoughts couldn’t beat my curiosity, though, that’s why I still purchasing it. So, is it worth the hype?

It has a really huge chubby mascara wand. Not my favourite kind, to be honest, because my lashes are pretty short, and if I’m not super careful, I could easily smudge my cheeks or eye area during application, which is such a hassle for me. Well, it did indeed lengthen my lashes really well if I’m going to compare it with other western mascara that I’ve tried, like say, Benefit or most Maybelline mascara. But really, if I’m going to compare it with Heroine Make or Majolica Majorca Mascara, it’s not even close.

Probably because I prefer whispy, long, unclumped lashes. And I could easily clumped my lashes with this mascara. And I find the need to coat this mascara over and over again to achieve the desired length that I want, while I could achieve it just within two or three application with Heroine Make or Majolica Majorca.

So, no, I guess this mascara is not for me. It has such a great hype, though, and I’m sure that is not without a reason. So if you love western mascaras more than asian one, I think you would love this one. Especially if you love Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara that it said to be the dupe to this mascara (haven’t tried it though, so I can’t compare).

So, have you tried this mascara before? Do you think that this is it worth the hype? Please do share your thoughts in the comment section below! 😉
