Having a super dry lips since birth, I’m a sucker of lip balm, especially since I was in college. I used to wear the good ol’ Revlon Lip Balm that my late mother used to wear ever since I was a child up until I’m starting to venture into skincare world and begin to try lots of lip balm from other brands as well, like the cult favorite NUXE Rêve de Miel to the Millenial brand Glossier. So, this time around I want to talk about my recent purchase, which is another cult favorite (I think); which is the Rosebud Perfume Co. Rosebud Salve in a Tube.
About the Brand:
Founded in 1892, the Rosebud Perfume Company set out with a simple mission: To provide simple, multi-usage products that are both affordable and effective. With the creation of the world famous, cult-favorite Rosebud Salve that boasts to be the cure-all for a wide array of skin ailments from blemishes to chapped lips to dry elbows, the family run Rosebud Perfume Company has solidified its place in cosmetic history.
What it is:
A cult-favorite, multitasking miracle balm in a convenient tube format.
What it is formulated to do:
This beloved multipurpose essential deeply moisturizes and soothes dry lips. Versatile and comforting to skin, it calms and heals irritation, soothes the sting of minor burns, helps heal cuts, tames mangled cuticles, helps fix ashy elbows and knees, and minimizes diaper rash. The slight hint of rose scent adds a delicately aromatic touch without overpowering or cloying.
-Aromol (7 Essential Trade Secret Rose Oils): Heals and adds an aromatic touch.
-Petrolatum: Moisturizes and protects against the elements.
Cotton Seed Oil, Aromol, Essential Oils, Petrolatum Base.
The first thing that I think when I first saw this lip balm is how convenient it is. The packaging makes it an ideal lip balm for mid-day touch up or anytime you feel like your lips dry out. It comes with a squeeze in tube packaging that you can apply rightaway into your lips because of the convenient applicator, so this is definitely something that you want to throw into your daily bag and makeup pouch right away.
As for the texture of the lip balm itself, it’s more like gel type, not the emollient type though it has petroleum jelly in the ingredients list. It melts easily into the lips and instantly moisturized my dry lips. If you have chapped lips, you might need more time to improve your lips with this lip balm (and with other lip balms on that matter), but still, this is definitely my go-to lip balm nowadays for touch up.
Because the texture kinda resembles lip gloss, it will be slippery if you put lipstick directly into the lips, so you definitely need to blot your lips first before lipstick application. If you’re lazy to touch up your lipstick throughout the day, this lip balm comes with slight pink tint, so your lips won’t look pale or sick without colour!
So, overall, I really like this Rosebud Perfume Co. Rosebud Salve in a Tube because it just works and the price is pretty reasonable. Have you tried this product before? Do share your thoughts in the comment section bellow! 😉
