Life Updates: Australia Trip and Skin Care Shopping Story! ;-)

Hello, it’s been a while!

I think this is the first time since…. two years, I think? That I really don’t have the time to post on this blog despite my commitment to write 3 times a week ever since I decided to write actively on this blog. First thing first, to anyone that actually read my posts and reviews, hello! I’m back! And so sorry, I promise that I will be back with beauty reviews by this Friday! πŸ˜‰

So, a month ago, I was very fortunate to got scholarship / business trip to Brisbane and Sydney in order to improve my business to be ready for international market and I was really glad that I could met lots of amazing people from the industry, amazing mentors, top notch session and workshop, and last but not least, I could met lots of new friends from that’s not just an expert at their business but also very friendly as well! I still couldn’t believe that I could be friends with lots of seniors in the industry; received lots of tips and tricks to survive in this harsh industry, and also received lots of feedback. God is good, indeed. πŸ™‚

I honestly never expect that Australia; especially Sydney, would be a place that I would love. I know that deep inside, I’ve always prefer Asian culture mixed with well developed technology, hence the reason why I always love Seoul and Tokyo. However, the first time I stepped my feet on this country, I was surprised that there’s this certain familiarity as if this is not the first time I visit this place.

I love the coffee culture here in Sydney and Brisbane (Gotta love Campos, indeed!). Thankfully I got these couple of friends that’s also crazy about coffee so I just followed them around to try famous coffee chain, lol. It was certainly really interesting experience to try different coffee shops every morning before class! I personally never been an expert in coffee, as I purely drink the potion for the sake of waking up every morning and for my digestion, lol,Β  but if you are a coffee enthusiast, I’m pretty sure that you would love the coffee culture here in Australia.

Next, my favorite subject, of course, skin care shopping!!Β Believe me, if you are into beauty and skin care, Australia would be one of your shopping heavens! Their drugstore and department stores are not just carry lots of well-loved Australian and NZ brands such as Trilogy, Antipodes, Grown Alchemist, Alpha-H and Goodness, but also carry lots of cult UK, US, and Canadian brand such as Tatcha, Drunk Elephant, NIOD, and Youth to the People!

Furthermore, if you are a bargain hunter like me, Australia, especially Brisbane (well, during my time of visit) is the perfect place to find good deals! I got Clarins Double Serum for just 50 AUD here, I also got this Grown Alchemist Set that consist of 4 full size products that would probably worth around 180 AUD AUD for just 70 AUD at David Jones! And that was just the tip of the iceberg! I also got discount for La Roche Posay, The Ordinary,Β Antipodes, Linolips, Goodness, etc! So, looks closely and compare the price from different shops before you made purchase! πŸ˜‰

But seriously, I can’t get enough of the selection of brands that got carried by Sephora AU, Mecca Maxima, Priceline, Pharmacy, David Jones, and Myers here in Australia. Thank God that I got fellow skin care enthusiast friends with me (Hi, Kak Gem, Rima, and Lia!); without them, I would ended up not exploring enough, lol! I remember that time when we passed by DECIEM Flagship Store by accident in Sydney when our group of friends went for lunch, and I screamed a little and impulsively went inside the store, lol!!!! Thankfully Rima and Lia want to accompany me, because, skin care and shopping over lunch, am I right? πŸ˜†

It was a good time, indeed! Connecting with new friends, new culture, new experiences and knowledge… Couldn’t wait to meet them again in August! πŸ™‚ I also wish that I could visit Australia again with my father and brothers in the future because those quick tour with my uncle’s family in Sydney were certainly not enough! Plus, I’m really curious to visit Melbourne! πŸ™‚

Well, that’s about it for now!

See you guys in Friday for my beauty post and Sunday for my Haul post! ❀
