[EMPTIES] Huxley Secret of Sahara: Light and More Oil

I have to say that I am one of the biggest advocate of facial oil. I used to very intrigued on why skin care bloggers tend to swear by oil, but once I tried my first and my HG oil, the Trilogy Rosehip Oil, I understand why. Facial oil is just so wonderful. It will go penetrate deep into your skin, and will help to make all of your skin care that you put underneath to absorbs better and also will help to make your skin hydrate from within. Guess what? Almost all of the moisturizers out there contains oil. And facial oil won’t make your skin oilier. Instead, it will make your skin way more balanced. If you haven’t try one, you should!

Well, let’s move aside; this time around I want to talk about my third Huxley product, which is the Huxley Secret of Sahara: Light and More Oil. I used to be so skeptical with Huxley products, no kidding. Perhaps because their hydrating serum just work so-so for me, and I think that they only win people’s hearts for their packaging and branding. That until I tried this oil. I honestly purely bought this oil because the Korean price is pretty reasonable for a facial oil (I noticed that American retailers will mark up Huxley pretty high, but, well, you decide); and surprisingly it is good!

From Glow Recipe:

The Gist:
A blend of lightweight Sahara Prickly Pear Cactus oil delivers an powerful punch of moisture, hydration, and nourishment that penetrates the deepest layers of your skin.

How it works:
The Huxley Light and More Oil is a highly concentrated blend of antioxidant-rich, Organic Sahara Prickly Pear Cactus Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Sunflower Oil that melts seamlessly into skin, providing plumping hydration and firming nutrition to the skin. Its also packed with antioxidants and proteins and due to its high skin affinity, is easily absorbed for a non-greasy finish.

Free of:
Parabens, Synthetic Dyes, Mineral Oils.

Use two-to-three drops of this light weight oil and apply to the skin by gently patting into the face after a essence or serum. An alternative is to add a drop or two to your cream for an ultra hydrating boost.

This hydrating oil is so absorbable that it is practically dry. This versatile lightweight oil can be used on face, lips, and hair to seal in hydration. Less is more with this potent oil as you only need a few drops to feel all of its vitalizing abilities. Inspired by the natural flora and fauna that thrives in the harshest environments and terrains, Huxley harnesses only the most resilient ingredients to strengthen, hydrate, and protect skin.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Squalene, Opuntia Ficus-Indica Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Fragrance

At first, when I see “Light Oil” on the name, I don’t have much hope with this oil. Because I usually prefer heavier oil rather than light weight oil. However, after a week or so, I started to realise that this oil is not bad afterall! In fact, this is probably one of my favorite oil so far. With its pale yellow colour, with unnoticeable scent, and fast adsorbing formula, I think this oil could be suitable to many skin types.

The thing that I’m surprised with this oil, despite the lightweight texture, it’s still make your skin glowing, dewy, and well hydrated! Usually with light weight oil, I have to layer the oil twice, but with this oil, one full drops is enough, and yet when I need that extra glow, the two full drops of it never makes me greasy!

As for the packaging, I think you can’t deny that Huxley always have a top notch packaging. The glass packaging and the minimalist branding always make the brand to be very chic and expensive. The packaging alone would make you understand why you paid the price, lol. However, with this product, I’m glad that I also got a very good product that deliver results.

Would I recommend it? Well, yes, of course! This oil is just simply beautiful, I personally think that these oil blend would work for any skin types. If you have dry skin, for PM routine, I really like to use this oil after my serum, top it off with sheet mask, and put even more oil after you done the sheet mask, and tap tap it into your skin to make it adsorb really well, and finally lock it with moisturizer, et voila! Glowing, well hydrated skin!

    1. Yeah, this product also surprised me! I remember that you love Whamisa Deep Rich Essence Toner, and compare to Whamisa, this oil is definitely very very mild in fragrance 🙂
