[REVIEW] Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner

It’s my mission to find the replacement to my favorite toner for the past 2 years from Menard. Preferably something cheaper, but still works. Because, I found that my skin is very picky when it comes to toner. Back to 2 years ago, lots of toner made me broke out. And the only ones that would work out for my skin are only the Menard Tsukika Lotion Moist and the ever-so-expensive SK-II Clear Lotion.

Now that my skin barrier is already improved, I hope that cheaper toner would work on me. And my choice would be this Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner for so many reasons. Well, initially I was very skeptical with non-Road Shop brand from Korea. However, because there are literally tons of good reviews around it, and the price is pretty affordable, I decided to purchase it, even though I didn’t know if it’s a strong BHA toner like the COSRX Blackhead Liquid Power, or a mild exfoliating toner like COSRX Acne Pimple Pad.

It turned out to be a mild exfoliating toner, like most of Korean exfoliating toner. I’ve read or heard somewhere (probably from Liah Yoo) that Korean government only give permit to Korean skin care company for the usage of AHA / BHA for maximum 5% for their exfoliating products, hence the reason why most of Korean exfoliating product is not as strong as the western one.

Well, for skin care beginners and for sensitive skin fellas, I think this is a good news, because it will lessen the risk of damaging the skin with the small percentage of actives. However, for skin care fanatics that already used to strong exfoliating products, like, say, Biologique Recherche, Sunday Riley Good Genes, or PIXI Glow Tonic, I think Korean exfoliating products would barely have any effects for them.

But since I have rather sensitive skin, I personally like this Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner. The texture is similar like Hada Labo Premium, but I like to use it with cotton pad because it’s a exfoliating toner to remove my dead skin. It’s gel-like consistency, and it glides easily into the skin.

In terms of result, I personally think that this is the hardest thing to judge from exfoliating products, because I can’t really see the result overnight. However, it’s positive that this is the mildest exfoliating product that I’ve ever tried. It feels rather moisturizing, even. Probably because the aloe vera ingredients. Unlike whenever I use The Ordinary Lactic Acid or Sunday Riley Good Genes, my skin never feels tingly with this toner.

And the good news is, my skin never broke out with this toner! My skin seems to liking this toner as good as the Menard one. So it safe to say that I could say good bye for Menard Tsukika Lotion Moist for a while now!

Therefore, I highly highly recommend this toner for anyone with sensitive skin, and any skin care beginners that would want to try exfoliating toner! It’s affordable, and I think it would work out for any skin types, particularly the sensitive ones and the dehydrated ones! This toner would also help anyone who suffered from over exfoliated skin because this toner is pretty mild and soothing enough because of the aloe vera ingredients! So all in all, I think it’s positive that I will repurchase this toner later!
