Ah, yes, since it’s March already and I’m a wee bit late to post my empties report for February 2018, here they are!
The thing that I got whenever I was trying first essence from Japanese product is the fact that despite the good reviews and how they never broke out my skin, I don’t know how to think about it because I don’t feel like it made my skin make significant improvement or anything. Don’t get me wrong. I love Menard still, and I think that this first essence also has some role in order to prevent pimples on my skin. However, I don’t think that this essence do enough to make me want to repurchase it. Well, maybe it’s just because Korean first essence suited my skin more.
2. Nivea Instant White Firming Body Serum Body Lotion
While I love the Night Serum Body Lotion, I feel like this lotion tends to flakes of off my skin? Probably because of the SPF, but nowadays I feel like this lotion didn’t moisturized my skin enough as my skin lean into the dry side lately. Well… I would probably repurchase it sometime later, but maybe not for the next one or two months.
3. NIVEA Make Up Clear Micellar Water
Not the most effective micellar water, but still, it works second best against other affordable micellar water in the market. Though I still prefer Garnier Micellar Water to this one, but there’s a high chance that I would repurchase this one the most because it’s easier to get from my home, lol.
4. Huxley Secret of Sahara Essence Brightly Ever After
Though I don’t find any significant result from this serum in terms of brightening, in terms of texture, absorption, scent, and overall experience, I think this is by far, my most favorite product from Huxley. For a niacinamide serum, I think this works better than The Ordinary Niacinamide in terms of texture. If you would like to try a niacinamide serum, I think this is worth to try because it’s not as expensive as Paula’s Choice or Glossier’s serum (depends on where you buy it) and it works better than The Ordinary Niacinamide.
5. The Ordinary 100% Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil
In general I love all of The Ordinary’s oil. All of them just works on my skin beautifully and so darn cheap. Though this is my least favorite one because of the scent, I still think that I would repurchase this over the Goodness Chia Seed Oil any day. However, since there are lots of talks and scandal around The Ordinary, I don’t think that I want to purchase anything from them at the moment no matter how much I love their oils (Marula Oil, especially). So, maybe you will find other brand’s face oil in this blog in the mean time.
6-8. Dove Facial Wash
Pardon me to mention them repeatedly that I looked like I being paid to do this post, lol! Well, since they are available on the supermarket where I often go for groceries, I repurchase them way more often than I repurchase the Hada Labo Facial Wash. They work both pretty great and pretty much the same on my skin, though. So, if you are wondering which one is the best affordable facial wash, I would say just get either one of them, since they are both good.
9. Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum
Sadly, one of the serum that I had high hopes for, but didn’t work out for my skin. I still suspect that it is because of it was already oxidized. Well, it’s just hard to make sure that we got a fresh batch of Vitamin C serum if we got it from third party seller. And it’s really important that we could get fresh batch of Vitamin C for our skin. Therefore, I wouldn’t judge this serum because of this situation. Hopefully I could get them by myself soon so I could give them proper review since there’s a lot of people that literally can’t stop raving about this serum!
10. Votre Peau Eye Cream
Another thing that I just have to give up because I just can’t handle the consistency of this eye cream. Maybe it’s my fault because incidentally throw out the inner lid. But still, for me, this is the first time that I’ve found any skin care that would go easily dried up because it is exposed to the air. Not that I exposed it to the open air either, since I’ve always close it with the outer lid. Well, maybe Votre Peau want to offer affordable eye cream to the local market, but I think they should improve the consistency since Honpo Sana Nameraka could sell eye cream with similar price point but with far better consistency.
11. Menard Tsukika Moist Lotion
One of my favorite toner of all time! I think for the past 2 years, I just can’t move on from this toner and if you read my skin care resolution for 2018, I am on a mission to find other toner that would work on my skin, preferably, with a much affordable price. I think I already find a potential toner for that aspect (review coming soon!); and maybe you wouldn’t see this Menard Tsukika Moist Lotion in the near future since I want to try other toner in the market!
12. Innisfree Cotton Pads
As I finally found my favorite cotton pads that I could find easily in Jakarta last year, I just can’t look any further! I already stocked up a lot of this Innisfree Cotton Pads on my vanity, lol! Perhaps, until Silcot decided to expand their market sales to Indonesia or find other better replacement, I would use this cotton pads loyally in 2018 as it is relatively affordable, easy to find, and just pretty good!
13. Hada Labo Perfect 3D Gel
One of the moisturizer that I want to give it up in 2018 since I repurchased it sooo much in 2017 and I think I need to move from my comfort zone. I went to Bangkok last weekend and found lots of new interesting moisturizer from Hada Labo. Would it work better than this one? Let’s found out soon!
14. Kat Von D Ink Liner
The moment where I purchase this gal, I forgot that the best selling eyeliner from Kat Von D that everyone’s keep talking about is the Tattoo Liners. Since felt tip eyeliner is not my favorite type eyeliner, it goes without saying that this eyeliner is just not for me. In terms of the staying power and overall quality, I think this couldn’t beat Japanese liner, though. But since it’s on travel size, it’s just so convenient to bring it on your travel pouch.
15. Sunday Riley C.E.O Cleansing Oil
2 years ago, I am really struggling to find the perfect cleansing oil for me since lot of cleansing oil just make my skin broke out. DHC Cleansing Oil work pretty fine on me, though it don’t have any special factor that make me want to repurchase it. And this is the first time that I fell in love with cleansing oil. Cleansing Oil’s purposes is only cleansing your skin, isn’t it? So I usually don’t have any expectation towards cleansing oil except the ability to cleanse your skin. However, I noticed that this particular cleansing oil really help me to reduce blackheads and whiteheads from my skin!! Plus, it’s also smells citrusy. If only the price is not so crazy, I would repurchase this cleansing oil without thinking!
So, that’s all from my February empties! Do you spot any favorites here? Do mention it on the comment section bellow! 😉
