Have I said enough that I am practically a big fan of beauty oil? Well, lol, yeah, I know it’s starting to sound repetitive, but since facial oil is just that good, I know that I could use oil too to treat any dryness on my skin. So, since I started to workout regularly again, my elbow started to forming dry patches because I forgot to use yoga mat every time I did planking. Since body lotion and my trusted Vaseline Petrolium Jelly weren’t doing enough and didn’t heal it as fast as I would like to, I decided to purchase Bio Oil as soon as possible because I remember that even the Kim Kardashian also love this oil, lol.
The Bio-Oil formulation is a combination of plant extracts and vitamins suspended in an oil base. It contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil™, which changes the formulation’s overall consistency, making it light and non-greasy, ensuring that the goodness contained in the vitamins and plant extracts is easily absorbed.
Bio-Oil has undergone safety assessments in accordance with the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on Cosmetic Products. The toxicological profile, chemical structure, level of inclusion and total level of daily exposure of each ingredient used has been assessed and deemed safe for use (including for use by pregnant women).
Bio-Oil is manufactured in accordance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) as stipulated by the World Health Organisation. All ingredients are tested for adulteration and microbiological contamination prior to production and a sample from each batch manufactured is laboratory tested and then retained and monitored over a 5-year period.
All Bio-Oil packaging is recyclable and all paper materials are certified to be in accordance with sustainable forest management practices.
No harmful emissions, hazardous waste or wastewater is generated in the production of Bio-Oil.

I personally prefer thicker type of oil, perhaps because I have dry skin. That is why when I first apply Bio Oil to my skin, I don’t have high hopes to magically removes my dry patches instantly, because I have this theory that the thicker the oil, the better it is to treat any dryness on the skin. The texture of Bio Oil is just so watery and runny that made me question that is it even contain oils? Lol. I still don’t memorized every type of oil myself, but I feel like the oil blends in Bio Oil are mostly dry oils because it’s very watery and very fast to adsorb to the skin.
However, after a few days, I think that this Bio Oil definitely not bad at all, I could see improvement on my dry patches, and within a week, my dry patches are completely gone from my elbow! Yay!
The scent, texture, and overall experience of using Bio Oil for me is very suitable for everyday usage. Maybe the very reason why they prefer to use dry oil is because they want it to be fast to adsorb to the skin and not make skin greasy afterwards. I use Bio Oil as pre-moisturizer before I apply body lotion and I definitely could feel like that my skin is not as dry as its use to be!
Remember Glossier campaign on how we always tend to forgot treat our body skin while we always layer skin care upon skin care on top of our face? Well, I think this two or three step body care is pretty much a move to treat our skin better! We don’t really need those expensive body butter, just invest and safe your self with this beauty oil and put your favorite body lotion, and put SPF one for the AM, et voilà, your skin would be definitely better than just put body lotion on your skin! 🙂
