[REVIEW] BLP Beauty Lip Coat in Maple Waffle and Ginger Bread

Untitled-1

Finally it’s here! The review to the newest formulation of the BLP Beauty Lip Coat! As you might already know, the original formulation of the BLP Beauty is already my ultimate favorite, especially the Burnt Cinnamon and Butter Fudge shades combination. I heard that BLP Beauty went through a couple of different formulation after the first one that had mixed reviews, but since I didn’t interested on any of their shades back then, I didn’t get a chance to try them. However, back on Halloween 2017, they released autumn shades that really caught my eyes. So, into the shopping basket it goes!

There are lots of talks when BLP Beauty change its packaging. Yes, I love the initial packaging as well, however I do also understand that they want to change its packaging and logo placement to make it more applicable for other type of products. For me, though, as long as the formulation and the colours are still great, I’m good.

First, I want to talk about the Ginger Bread shade. Ever since I was trying my friend’s Urban Decay signature colour 1993, I really, really considering to buy that one, even though few of my friends told me that it’s not suitable for my skin tone. But I just don’t care, lol. So, when BLP Beauty released this shade, that for me really similar to 1993 shade, I decided to bought it with no hesitation. It turned out that it is not as dark as the 1993 on me, however I feel like I could pulled it off for everyday look. It’s a brown nude tone with cool undertone. But I think this is a pretty tricky shade if you apply it without makeup. So, maybe you need a wee bit blush beforehand.

As for the Maple Waffle, I bought it because the founder of BLP Beauty, Lizzie Parra, said in her Youtube channel that Maple Waffle is a “safe” shade for everyday use. I was a bit skeptical at first, and think that the shade would look similar to Girlactik Allure that everyone been loving but turned out made me look older whenever I apply it on its own. However, it turned out that this shade is very, very suitable on me. I lost count on the people that saying that this shade is very flattering on me, hence the reason why this shade is my go-to shade nowadays, lol!

Nevertheless, I think Maple Waffle would look flattering to everyone, in every skin colour possible. I always recommending this shade for everyone that’s asking for lipstick recommendation.

In terms of the actual formulation, have I said that this is one of the most comfortable formulation ever??? While the original formulation of BLP Beauty is very similar to Ofra’s Liquid Lipstick, I personally think that this new formulation is on par with Girlactik formulation that’s very famous with its super comfortable formulation, but with a much more affordable price. Only at around $9~$10, you would get this beautiful formulated lipsticks with nice range of colours! Ugh, what’s not to love?

Therefore, I would not stop recommending this BLP Beauty Lip Coat to everyone since it’s just thaaaat good, I’m not gonna lie! Have you tried one by yourself? Please do share your thoughts it in the comment section bellow if you already tried it! 🙂
