At the end of 2016 if I’m not mistaken, together with Lavender Water Sleeping Mask, Laneige come out with its three other flavour of Lip Sleeping Mask, Grapefruit, Vanilla, and Apple Lime for the Holiday 2016 collection. It turned out that the response to the collections is pretty good, hence the reason why they ended up making these new “flavours” permanent products, which explain why mine didn’t have the Holiday Special packaging. I choose Vanilla of course, because I’ve always love cookie and baked goods heavenly smell, yum!
As for the packaging and the consistency of the product, I don’t find any difference from this product to the original one apart of the scent and colour. It still help to soothe and moisture my dry lips greatly, and have the same sturdy glass packaging and complete with little rubber spatula that I love in the packaging. It’s still the same old Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, but with delicious flavour and scents of Vanilla!
I seriously have nothing to hate with this Lip Sleeping Mask. It’s working, smells heavenly, and though the price is a bit higher if we compare it to other lip balms in the market, it’s not that high, though (not as high as Tatcha or Sisley, at least), and it lasted me more than a year! So, for me it’s really worth the price. And I would repurchase it over and over and over again.
If I’m going to be a little bit critical about it, I found that the original Berry scent is a little bit more “safe” and less overpowering for everyday use, as sometimes I found that the Vanilla scent is a wee-bit too much. But aside of that, it’s still the oldie but goodie Lip Sleeping Mask that everyone’s should try! So, maybe I will consider to repurchase the original scent one next year!
