Long before I’m obsessed with facial oil, probably in 2014 or so, every western Youtuber that I know practically obsessed with Argan Oil, specifically the Josie Maran 100% Argan Oil. I never interested to purchasing one though, since that was the time where I don’t appreciate the existence of facial oil yet, lol. Fast forward to 2017, where I finally discovered the true miracle facial oil, and I decided to try the last two The Ordinary’s facial oil that I own, The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil.
This formulation uses 100% pure Moroccan Argan Seed Oil extracted through a cold pressing that preserves the integrity of the oil’s fatty acids, vitamins, phenols (including caffeic acid) and carotenes. Argan oil’s main fatty acid content is made up of oleic acid and linoleic acid. The oil supports healthy skin and reduces the appearance of flaking. It also adds soft sheen and strength to hair.
Notes: Supplied in UV-protective packaging.
Our Moroccan Argan Oil is completely unrefined and imparts a natural scent. This scent is not an indication of rancidity. Argan Oil that does not have a scent is refined and offers reduced benefits.
As of May 1, 2017, this product may contain sources from Argan nuts and seeds. The specifications of the oil remain virtually identical. However, if you have a nut allergy, please note that this product may contain traces of nuts.
Hair Application—Work through damp, clean hair daily or as needed. Skin Application—Apply a few drops to the entire face once daily or as needed.

This is my third out of four of the total facial oil products that The Ordinary released so far. At this point, where this is also probably my fifth oil product, I already understand my personal preferences of facial oil. While thankfully every facial oil that I’ve tried never reacted badly on my skin, of course there are some oil that I preferred than the other oil. And I must say that this The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil probably ranked in the middle out of every oil that I’ve tried.
This facial oil have the second most yellow coloured after The Ordinary’s Rosehip Oil. In terms of consistency, I have to say that this oil probably the thickest in consistency out of any oil that I’ve ever tried. It is not necessarily bad for me, since I have dry skin and love dewy skin anyway; however, there’s a thing that made me feel a little bit taken back whenever I use this facial oil: the smell. If you came from Asia, you would probably understand what I meant, it smells like those fake leather counterfeit branded bags that usually sold in Asian flea market. I do know that some leather needed to be polished with some oil to make it shiny… but I don’t expect that those polish shares the same scent with Argan Oil, lol. However, since this is my first Argan Oil product, I don’t particularly know if every Argan Oil product smells like this.
In terms of the performance itself, this The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil took the longest time to be completely absorbed into the skin. Once again, I don’t have any problem with this point, however, as this oil is pretty heavy and slow at absorption, I can see if people with combination or oily skin will be hesitate to try this oil. I personally suggested this oil for people with dry skin and dehydrated skin as it would definitely help them in order to restore and lock moisture in their skin.
And, this oil is such a divine treatment for hair and scalp. Several weeks ago, I have a super irritated scalp because of some hair scrub, and this oil definitely help to restore my scalp’s condition. For hair… well, I guess it’s no secret that Argan Oil is proven to be super moisturizing and such a blessing for dry hair.
Though I personally have no problem with this oil, I feel like my skin much prefer other oils from The Ordinary, which making this as my least favorite facial oil from The Ordinary. I would probably not repurchasing it since I prefer their Marula Oil much much better, but, I highly suggested people with dry skin, especially if they lived in a country with dry winter air, this definitely would help your skin to avoid dry patches and keep your skin well moisturized.
