I think for the past one and a half years, I’ve continuously use gradation lips. Lol, I don’t know, sometimes using bold full lips is just too much for me. Furthermore, I feel like whenever using full nude lips I just looked… sick… lol. Therefore my go-to colours always a mixture of nude lippen as my base colour, and dark burgundy-ish colour as the feather-out colour. But sometimes when I do feel playful, I sometimes reach for bright colour like purple or magenta, lol.
And this time around I want to talk about my favorite lipstick and/or liquid lipstick for gradation lips: the feather-out step!
1.Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in “Violet”
My first Too Faced Lipstick. I used to love it so much that I dare to wear it literally everywhere even if it’s on violet colour, lol! But now that I’m not that brave anymore, I will wear it with mixing it with nudes lipstick or feather it out on top of nude lipstick. I really like the packaging, I adore Too Faced packaging in general, though. Back then, this is probably the first liquid lipstick that come with that spongy applicator thingy.
2. Make Over Ultra Hi Matte Lipstick in Fame Fatale
I’ve never had the guts to wear burgundy lips before, and this is my first ever burgundy shades. I have to say that this lipstick made me convert to a burgundy lover. Well, I’ve never have the guts to wear full lips burgundy nor red shades though, so I ended up always use this as gradation lips. I freaking love this lipstick’s consistency and how easy it is to blend. It’s never cracking on the lips either no matter how matte it is. Not to mention, the super affordable price. Major love!
3. Topshop Lipstick in Beguiled
I purely bought this at first because of the sudden Topshop Lipstick craze, lol. I remember that I asked my friend to bought this from Singapore because my local Topshop didn’t carry their makeup line. Well…. to be honest I found that the formula is just okay…. It’s not groundbreaking nor super long lasting either. The only thing that made this lipstick special for me is because this is my first weird-colour lipstick, lol. It works pretty well as gradation lips, though!
4. Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in “Berry”
I honestly expected this lipstick to be as dark as Fame Fatale, but turned out that it’s not that dark, lol. Alone, this lipstick shade is a berry red shade, hence the name. Since I’ve never have the braveness to wear red lips, so I always use this as gradation lips.
5. MAC Pro Longwear Lipstick in Prolong
This lipstick was originally my Mother’s, because there is no way that I would buy this shade voluntarily, lol. Honestly I pretty like the consistency of this lipstick, it’s pretty much similar with Make Over Hi Matte Lipstick, but with much smoother application and a wee-bit less pigment. Nevertheless, I freaking love to use this shade as a gradation lips on top of Kat Von D’s Bow n Arrow, the combination of both, plus lots of blotting and reapplication, will resulting a super long wear shades!
6. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Ping Pong
One of the pinkest lipstick that I owned, lol. There were a time where I used to wear pink lipstick a lot (well, it’s certainly not in 2016 and 2017, lol). Now that I’m more into neutral shades, I ended up using this Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Ping Pong as a gradation lips. Forever love Bourjois‘ consistency and how comfortable it is, though.
7. BLP Beauty Lip Coat in Burnt Cinnamon
Are you bored that I’ve been featuring this lipstick for a countless times already?? Lol, I’m not even sponsored, but I just love how this liquid lipstick keep impressing me, with its packaging, its consistency, and the blendability of it. It wears reallly nice on top of BLP Beauty Lip Coat in Butter Fudge. They recently launched their new formula and packaging, but I haven’t got the chance to try it yet. Will post about it in the future if I tried it already!
So, that’s all of my favorites lipstick and/or liquid lipstick for gradation lips part 1: the feathered out step! Do you spot any favorites here? Or do you have another favorites to recommend? Please do share it in the comment section bellow if you have one! 😉
