My 2017 Updated Skin Care Routine

Finally, I revealed my latest skin care routine, which includes a lot of new favorites and new products that makes my skin feels at its best! 🙂 If you don’t know already, I have dry, sensitive, and dehydrated skin and my major concern when I’m choosing skin care is hydration; therefore you will find a lot of moisturizing products.

I live in tropical country, hence the reason why I seems to lean more towards layering thin hydrating toners and lotions these days, especially in the morning. I feel like, that way, my skin is well moisturized without feeling greasy (you know, the perks of living in humid climates, you will almost likely always feels greasy even though you have dry skin during mid-day).

Without further ado, let’s jump into le new routine!

My morning routine is definitely way more light compared to my night routine. My main reason to keep it light in the morning mainly because I want my makeup sits well all day. I feel like if I layered a lot of heavy products, my skin would feel greasier during the afternoon, and my base make up would go anywhere at the end of the day. So, I opted to layer a few of hydrating toners.

Familiar with the new Korean trend to layers your hydrating toner 7 times? I didn’t even realized that a lot of people love to doing this before the trend, lol. However, instead of layering the same hydrating toners 7 times, I like to using a lot of toners during the day. Although, I have to admit that my toner-layering-game is not up to seven layers, loll. 😆

1.SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

Do I need to raved more about this products after I repeatedly show my love towards this particular cleanser here and there? 😆 So, basically this is a fuss free second cleanser and/or morning cleanser with low-pH that’s totally friendly towards sensitive skin (i.e: Me). This cleanser feels super nice, luxurious, with faint roses scent, that even me, who are totally not a fan of rose fragrance, is feeling totally okay with the scent. As a self-proclaimed florist during my spare time, I could say that this rose scent feels fresh. Lol.

It lathers quite nicely, without a need of foaming net (which is the main reason why I think that this cleanser is a fuss free one) and travel friendly! On my first review on this cleanser I talked about how this cleanser seems to be soggy between uses, but fret not! I found that if I twisted it back after uses, it would stay solid and fine! Plus, I use this cleanser practically twice a day every single day for the last three months, and it still lasts. So, a little does goes a long the way.

2. Menard Tsukika Lotion Moist

As you might already know from my previous post, I found that Menard Tsukika Lotion Moist is my cheaper alternative to my previous favorite, SK-II Clear Lotion, with a much more hydrating agent. This toner never fails to refresh my skin and calms it. Major love for this one!

3. Hanyul Optimizing Serum

This is probably my first facial treatment essence or skincare booster after the famous SK-II FTE. While I personally never feels that the SK-II FTE did anything major to my skin condition after finishing approximately three bottles of them, the main reason why I decided to try this Hanyul Optimizing Serum is 1) Jun Ji-Hyun (lol) 😆 ; and 2) The skin care guru that I followed for a long time said that this is basically the hydrating version of the equally famous Sulwhasoo First Care Serum. Because of those reasons, I’m sold right away.

However, I didn’t expect that this Hanyul Optimizing Serum impressed me so much! Ohmygod, I just in love by how this serum smoothens my skin, makes it feels plumped instantly, and I feel like it does makes the skin care that I put afterwards to be absorb way better and makes my skin even more plumper if it makes any sense, lol. I also noticed by how my acne reduced by using this product. So, short to say, this is such a game changer to my skin care routine. Definitely will write a full review soon! 🙂

4. Hanyul Rice Essential Skin Softner

I think I wrote previously by how I feel intrigued by this Hanyul Rice Essential Skin Softner and didn’t really know how I think about it. However, after I paired it with my new favorite Hanyul Optimizing Serum, that was the time when I understand what is the fuss around this hydrating toner. This stuff, paired with the Hanyul Optimizing Serum are definitely matched made in heaven. They both definitely plumps my skin and softens it instantly.

5. Hada Labo Premium Hydrating Lotion

I will running out of this gal and I still don’t know what should I use as a replacement, lol. I know that I still can use my past favorite combo, the Hada Labo Gokyujun Lotion and the Moisturizing Lotion, but I just adore by how this product moisturized my skin way better than the regular Gokyujun Lotion. Hopefully it will be released soon here in Indonesia!

6. Sana Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Eye Cream

While I absolutely love to use this eye cream during my evening routine, I feel like some of my concealers didn’t work well with this one no matter how thin I put the cream under my eye. So, sometimes I skipped this eye cream at my AM routine. Nevertheless, I still think that this is one of the best Japanese drugstore eye cream because of the ingredients (retinol eye cream at $10 price point, anyone?), and it moisturized my eye area pretty well.

7. Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence

I love that this sunscreen is so versatile. While it works so fine as sunscreen, it’s pretty hydrating too, which is totally friendly to my dry skin. Plus, it works so nice too as a primer, so, I don’t need to use a separate face primer before my foundation.

8. NUXE Rêve de Miel Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm

These days, it’s my favorite day time lip balm because it’s pretty fuss free, and quite friendly under a various lip product, even the Kylie Liquid Lipstick that I found quite tricky when I paired it to another lip balm. I simply just had to blot it to reduce the “waxyness” and apply the liquid lipstick, voila!

To be quite honest, I didn’t realized that my evening skin care routine would be this extensive compared to my last one, lol. So, during this routine, I like to use multiple cleansers before I apply my skin care. I also like to use my exfoliating toner during evening maybe once every three days, while I still layering my hydrating toner and add a heavy duty moisturizing cream to locked everything in.

1. ARITAUM Fair Smile Fermentation Lip and Eye Remover

This is definitely my go-to when I use a waterproof makeup, i.e my favorite Kiss Me Heroine Long & Curl MascaraThis makeup remover effortlessly remove all of the waterproof makeup without any residue. Love it!

2. Bioderma Sensibio H2O

I don’t know, but I personally feels insecure if I don’t remove my base makeup without this micellar water, although I know that my cleansing balm/oil would remove any trace of makeup pretty well. I love the refreshing feeling whenever I use this micellar water.

3. Banila co. Clean It Zero Purity for Sensitive Skin

I think I already mentioned before that this is one of my favorite first cleanser, ever. This cleansing balm transform from a sorbet like texture to oil form. This cleansing balm remove all of the SPF and any makeup residue really, really, well; and it didn’t break out my skin so far.

4. SU:M37 Mircale Rose Cleansing Stick

5. COSRX One Step Pimple Clearing Pad

This exfoliating toner is working really nice to sensitive skin, while help to reduce my pimples effectively. Sometimes I like to use it everyday, but there are some days when I prefer to use it once every three days, especially when I’m experimenting with new products. Well, I’m just afraid that since this product contains actives ingredients, it might clash with some new additions to my routine.

6. Menard Tsukika Lotion Moist

7. Hanyul Optimizing Serum

8. Hanyul Rice Essential Skin Softner

9. Hatumogi Skin Conditioner

This is the newest addition to my skin care routine. This is supposedly a multi-function product, that you can use as lotion, sheet mask, toner, etc. But I’m still experimenting to find the best way to use this particular product. However, I still think that this product is nice because it didn’t break me out even during the first time I’m trying to incorporate it to routine. So far I found that it works the best for me as a sheet mask, it’s cooling, and hydrates my skin pretty well.

10. Hada Labo Premium Hydrating Lotion

11. Hada Labo Perfect 3D Gel

This is my staple night cream ever since I discover it. I freaking love this product sooo much. While you can read my full rambles here, this product definitely help to make skin supple and plump but not as greasy as the regular Gokyujun Night Cream. It feels lighter, but feels more hydrating and locked everything really well.

12. Hada Labo Gokyujun Night Cream

Because of le price, I don’t really want to wasted every precious drops of the Hada Labo Perfect 3D Gel for my neck, lol. 😆 Perhaps, I don’t get affected by the articles that stated how important it is to put special care for neck, yet. We’ll see if in the future I will use a special product for my neck care, lol. We’ll see.

13. Sana Nameraka Honpo Wrinkle Eye Cream

14. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

This lip sleeping mask is seriously a life saver whenever I feel like my lips condition is at its driest. Smells really nice, a little goes a long the way, and work really effectively. Whenever I use this, in the morning my lips feels instantly hydrated and plump. Read my full thoughts here.

15. Etude House AC Clean Up Pink Powder Mask

While I do love this mask on its own and on its main purpose, these days I use this pink powder mask as a spot treatment because I’m way too lazy to buy a new Etude House Pink Powder Spot after my last empties. However, I’m pleasantly surprised that it might be works even better than the pink powder spot at reducing pimples! Major love!

So, here’s my full line up of my current skin care routine. I think I have to mention that this routine does help to make my skin feels at its finest, even when I currently in a totally unhealthy diet, lol (hello, junk food, sweets, and sugar!) in which usually take a huge part to make some breakouts and inflammation on my skin.

Do you have any favorites here? Or do you have any product recommendation for me to try?

Leave your thoughts in the comment section bellow! 😉
