Foreo Luna is probably the most expensive beauty products that I’ve ever buy. Just like every skin care junkie out there, I was thinking back and forth to buy Foreo Luna or Clarisonic MIA instead. Even after I decided to buy Foreo Luna, I was pondering wether this device will be worth the money or not. It’s freaking $169! What if it does not suit me? What if it will be too harsh for my skin? What if the device does not live up to expectation? Followed by other endless ‘what-if’s.
However, after a few considerations, in the end I decided to buy it, anyway. So, we’ll see if after a year I consider that Foreo Luna is a great investment or not…
The LUNA™ facial brush and anti-aging device channels T-Sonic™ pulsations for gentle exfoliation that’s designed for everyday use while also incorporating anti-aging technology into its groundbreaking design.
The unique combination of T-Sonic pulsations with silicone touch-points gently exfoliate dead skin cells and unclogs pores of makeup residue, as well as 99.5% of dirt and oil, enhancing the absorption of your other skin care products.
In its one-of-a-kind Anti-Aging Mode, the LUNA facial brush directs lower-frequency pulsations that, when applied to wrinkle-prone areas, reduces the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as brings skin that looks firmer.
When I first bought Foreo Luna last year, I did not realised that my skin at the worst state at that moment. My skin was so so dry and sensitive to the point that it was feeling tight, flakey, and start to peeled off. Little did I know that my skin was so dehydrated at that moment. I was using a lot of scrubbing and acid products, hence the reason why my skin is so dehydrated in the first place.
If I already realised my skin condition at that time, I probably won’t buy Foreo Luna because it is a scrubbing device, andI was not supposed to scrub my face even further!
After a few first uses, I decided to stopped using Foreo Luna because I was gradually realising the condition of my skin. So, my real first experience of using Foreo Luna started this March 2016, the time when I feel confident enough that my skin “ready” for another exfoliation treatment. Because I was so hesitant towards my skin condition, I even tested it out by only using it once a week at first, and started to using it twice a week, thrice a week, and finally I use it everyday after probably a month of testing it out.
So, after I use the Foreo Luna everyday with my second cleanser these past 4-5 months, I feel that my skin softer after every uses, it helped a lot to reduce acne (even if it is bad, I love to “combat” my pimple with Foreo Luna, lol), whitehead and blackhead. I found the pulsations of Foreo Luna is so relaxing, and you can control how strong or low the pulsations by your own preferences.
In terms of cleansing, even if it does help to cleanse your skin well, you can’t rely on Foreo Luna to remove your makeup, though. You really need to use first cleanser first to remove your makeup and then followed by your second cleanse, preferably foaming cleanser, and then start to massage your face with Foreo Luna.
However, in terms of anti ageing purposes, I’ve got to be honest that I did not really use Foreo Luna for my skin care routines. Why? Because after I learn so much about skin care, I am started to become OCD towards the application of my skin care, and I don’t find it hygienic enough if I use Foreo Luna after I use it to cleanse my face; and I just feel that it’s not practical to continuously cleanse the device for anti ageing purposes. Well, maybe in the future I will use it for massaging my face when I feel like using massaging cream for my face.
Is it worth the money? I think yes, because it could deep cleanse your skin for daily use yet not abrasive for sensitive skin. It has multiple use, for cleansing and anti ageing purposes (although I wasn’t using it yet). But if you compare it to Clarisonic or other brush cleanser device, it is worth the money because you don’t have to changing up the brushes after every three months and it’s not as harsh as brush cleanser device. On the plus side, even after I use it continuously for 4-5 months, I don’t need to recharged it yet, and it’s seems that Foreo Luna is more travel friendly rather than other cleansing device because of its size.
